If you have a favorite one, bring along a JavaScript (or other language for that matter) test framework/harness you like (or don’t like, for that matter) and we can see how they measure up. QUnit, Vows, Nodeunit,the Node.js assert module, and Sinon.JS have already said they’re coming, and more would be welcome.

As always, BYOB and we’ll have snacks and coffee available.

Administrative Notes

* If anybody prefers Cedar Rapids over Iowa City, we can still get The Vault reserved, so speak up if that’s your preference and we can start rotating locations again.
* Anybody who wants to take a crack at redesigning the website is more than welcome.
* I’m going to send out a newsletter on our Mailchimp account to see who’s using it. If you’re OK with getting everything on Twitter (@iowajs) and this blog, just unsubscribe and I’ll shut it down if nobody’s using it.

As always, anything else want to talk about is fair game, and any skill level person is welcome, as long as you want to hang out and are somewhat interested in JavaScript or programming.

This time we’ll be moving it back to Cedar Rapids and meeting at Mulligan’s Pub at 7pm on Thursday, August 18th. Be sure to come talk JavaScript and everything else related with us.

Chris will be bringing examples of many, many JavaScript frameworks/libraries and explaining what they do and why they’re useful. If you’re new to JavaScript, this would be perfect to get an understanding of what the latest buzzwords are all about. If you’re an expert, maybe you’ll learn about a good alternative to something you’ve been using for months or years. Mostly it’s just going to be a discussion about the JavaScript projects that are out there. If we decide to take the conversation in a different direction, that’s okay too!
