Last Thursday we had a small group (where were all of you!) @ChrisMissal, Misha, and @nlsmith talking promises mostly. Some links about that:

We had some beers and talked about what to do for the next meetings. We’re thinking of a series of (micro) framework lightning talks, so if you’ve got a favorite little framework, put together 5 minutes on it and maybe you can talk about it in an upcoming meeting.
We’ll post soon on the next meeting (still scheduled for August 18.)
June Minutes & July & Beyond

We had a good time at the last Iowa JS meeting in Iowa City.
Nathan L Smith talked about TXJS, and used the very excellent Swagbag site to give a review of everything that went down. Also checked out JsApp.US for an instant way to play around with Node.js
We also decided to make a regularly scheduled meeting on the 3rd Thursday of every month. So the next one will be July 21, same place and time as the last one, though the location and time are subject to change, we’ll probably be sticking to that date.
If you’re nowhere near Iowa City, we would like to invite anyone in any other part of Iowa who wants to start a JS meetup to let us know and we can let you use this site to start your own chapter.
Hope to see everyone interested there at the next one. Bring drinks and snacks and be prepared to enjoy yourself. Any topic suggestions are welcome but I’m sure we can find something to talk about.
